Where we are
A rural museum in south-eastern Sicily
Among the dry-stone walls of the Iblean countryside between Modica and Scicli, MuRu was born in a small stone stable, once a rabbit hutch, which preserves authentic traces of rural architecture within its walls.

Who We Are
What we do
We are Marta, Luca, Andreina, and Salvatore. We believe that rurality is key to understanding the present and imagining new balances between humanity, nature, and community.
Through installations, objects, stories, and workshops, MuRu presents itself as a space where the rural experience can be lived and shared.
Objects, voices, landscapes
We collect stories, details, and voices from the local area and pass them on. Each exhibited object has an origin, a gesture, and a person who used it. Interviews convey the story and experience of the area.
Thinkering - Thinking with your hands
Disassembling, Build, and Reflect are the goals of the experimental laboratory. A place where the learning process is more important than the product. A place where everyone contributes their knowledge and can share it with others.
