OREGANO FROM CEREBIA
Nome scientifico
Origanum dictamnus
Descrizione
Small, soft, almost velvety. Cretan oregano seems like a plant born to be caressed by the wind and protected by rocks. It grows clinging to the island's cliffs—so much so that it's called the "dictam of the mountains"—where it perfumes the dry air and scorching stones.
Percorso Olfattivo
Warm, balsamic, with a sweet, resinous note.
A scent that envelops you like an ancient, medicinal herb, capable of making you feel safe.
Curiosità
It was considered a magical plant, capable of healing and restoring balance to body and spirit.
In ancient Crete, the most daring young men would scale rock faces to collect it. It was a gesture of courage and good luck: offering it meant offering protection and sincere affection. Aristotle also wrote that wild goats sought it to heal wounds sustained during battle.
